Obituary for Mattie J. Wickey
Ms. Mattie J. Wickey, age 62, of Bennington, Indiana, passed away at 7:44 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. Mattie entered this life on July 25, 1959 in Berne, Indiana. She was the daughter of Jacob J. and Rosina R. "Rosie" (Schwartz) Wickey. She was raised in Berne, Indiana and had resided in the Switzerland County community since 1988. Mattie received her education and was of the Old Order Amish faith. She was lovingly cared for by her family until her death.
Mattie is survived by her mother, Rosina R. "Rosie" (Schwartz) Wickey of Bennington, IN; her brothers, Reuben Wickey and his wife, Emma of Bennington, IN, Andy Wickey and his wife, Ruth of Canaan, IN, Jacob Wickey and his wife, Katie of Owingsville, KY, Amos Wickey of Bennington, IN, Harvey Wickey and his wife, Esther of Cross Plains, IN, Eli Wickey and his wife, Clara of Canaan, IN, Rudy Wickey and his wife, Emma of Canaan, IN and Simon Wickey and his wife, Rachel of Bennington, IN; her brother-in-law, Sam Schwartz of Madison, IN and her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jacob J. Wickey, died June 19, 2000; her sisters, Mary J. Wickey, Ruth J. (Wickey) Schwartz, Emma Wickey and Elizabeth J. "Lizzie" Wickey; her brother, Jerry R. Wickey; her maternal-grandparents, Reuben E. and Mattie Schwartz; her paternal-grandparents, Jacob D. and Elizabeth Wickey; her nephews, Ben K. Wickey and Amos Schwartz; her niece, Rebecca Schwartz; her great-nephews, Jacob Girod, Andy W. Schwartz and Jacob R. Girod; her great-niece, Mary Girod and her numerous aunts and uncles
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 and Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Wickey Residence, 4112 Aberdeen Road, Bennington, Indiana 47011.
Funeral Services will be begin at 8:30 a.m., Sunday, July 24, 2022, by Bishop Jacob Schwartz, at the Wickey Residence, 4112 Aberdeen Road, Bennington, Indiana 47011.
Interment will follow in the Old Order Amish Cemetery near Pleasant, Indiana.
