Obituary for Norma L. Darbro Earls (Dilts)

Mrs. Norma L. (Dilts) Darbro Earls, age 91, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on July 22, 1930 in Switzerland County, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Grace (Turner) Dilts. She was raised in Switzerland County and Ohio County where she was a 1948 graduate of the Patriot High School. Norma was united in marriage to Roy Darbro on December 24, 1948 and he passed away on June 8, 1969. She was later united in marriage to John J. Earls on August 4, 1979 at the Switzerland Baptist Church. Norma and John shared 15 years of marriage together until he passed away on August 10, 1994. Norma resided in Versailles and Madison, Indiana before moving to Vevay, Indiana where she resided until her passing. She was a member of the Fredonia Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana and the Vevay American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary. Norma was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed flowers, reading, sewing and spending time with her family. Norma passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 11, 2021, at her residence.

Norma will be missed by her sons, Larry Darbro and his wife, Debbie of Florence, IN, Robert "Bobby" Darbro of Vevay, IN and Luke Earls of TN; her daughters, Carolyn "Jo" Lee and her husband, Larry of Perry Park, KY, Deborah Lynn "Debbie" Simpson of Vevay, IN, Beanie Driver and her husband, Mark of East Enterprise, IN, Jill Darbro of Madison, IN, Billie Kuhnen of Vevay, IN and Ruby Young and her husband, Raymond of Madison, IN; her step-sons, John Frederick "Fred" Earls of Madison, IN, Charles Michael "Mike" Earls and his wife, LuAnn of Lakeland, FL and Rev. William Arthur "Bill" Earls and his wife, Nelda of Fayetteville, OH; her step-daughter, Sharon Hansel and her husband, Darrell of Vevay, IN; her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Mary Catherine "Cathy" Darbro of Madison, IN and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Mary Grace (Turner) Dilts; her infant-sons, Charles Denver and Melvin Gayle Darbro; her sons, Paul Kenneth "Kenny" Darbro and Gary Ray Darbro; her grandsons, Anthony Darbro and Travis Webster; her sisters, Frances L. Wigal and Erma Rae Earls; her brother, Roy Dilts and her half-brother, Frank Scudder.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Vevay American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary Service and Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
