Obituary for Norma Lea Leap (Pettit)

Mrs. Norma Lea (Pettit) Leap, age 65, of East Enterprise, Indiana, entered this life on July 10, 1955 in Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late William Theodore and Florence Etta (Gelvin) Pettit. She was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1973 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Norma was united in marriage on August 6, 1975 at the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church to Gerald Leap. This happy union was blessed with a son Calvin. Norma and Gerald shared over 45 years of marriage together until her death. Norma was a former employee for the US Shoe Factory and was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church in Vevay, Indiana. She enjoyed helping the homeless and will be deeply missed by her loving family. Norma passed away at 9:11 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Florence, Kentucky.

Norma is survived by her husband, Gerald Leap of East Enterprise, IN; her son, Calvin Leap and his wife, Crystal of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Patrick Leap, William Leap, Logan Leap, Desiree Reitz and Timothy Scott Reitz, Jr.; her great-grandson, Richard Jake Leap; her brothers, Roger E. Pettit and his wife, Pat of Cincinnati, OH and Alford "Al" Pettit of Vevay, IN and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Theodore and Florence Etta (Gelvin) Pettit and her sisters, Dorothy Cifers and Evelyn Marie Lawson.

Due to COVID-19, masks are required along with social distancing. Friends may call 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
