Obituary for Paul "Bryan" Hayes

Mr. Paul "Bryan" Hayes, age 53, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on June 22, 1967 in Madison, Indiana. He was the son of Paul Vernon and Loretta Mae (McKenzie) Hayes of Vevay, Indiana. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1985 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Bryan was inducted into the United States Air Force on January 17, 1986 in Louisville, Kentucky. He received the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon and the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon. Bryan was honorably discharged with the rank of Senior Airman on January 16, 1990 at the Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. Bryan was united in marriage to Judy Gail Hankinson on May 23, 1991 in Carrollton, Kentucky. This happy union was blessed with a daughter, Kayla Mae. Bryan was formerly employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana for two years. He was a former shipping department supervisor for Advanced Concepts in Florence, Kentucky for 27 years. Bryan was also employed for Dorman Products in Warsaw, Kentucky for five years and for Grote Industries in Madison, Indiana for one year. Bryan resided all of his life in the Switzerland County community and was a former member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396. He enjoyed spending quality time with his granddaughter, Shelby Mae and watching NASCAR, IU basketball and Cincinnati Reds. Bryan also loved reading his bible, golfing, drawing and coloring. Bryan passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.

Bryan will be deeply missed by his loving daughter, Kayla Mae Hayes of Greendale, IN; his granddaughter, Shelby Mae Owings of Greendale, IN; his parents, Paul Vernon and Lorretta Mae (McKenzie) Hayes of Vevay, IN; his brothers, Todd Hayes and his wife, Kris of Boise, Idaho and Jamie Hayes of Vevay, IN; his nieces and nephews, Dustin Hayes, Andy Prussner, Linsey Hayes, Ryan Prussner, Paul Kyle Hayes, Nathan Smith, Kollin Hayes and Leigh Hayes; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaxson, Jon, Allie, Nic, Aubree, Isaiah and Elijah; his aunts and uncles, Donald and Mardi McKenzie of Tuttle, OK, Lona Mathews of Largo, FL, Betty Scott of Vevay, IN, Judy Kay White of Vevay, IN, Lynda McKenzie of Vevay, IN, Betty Pavy of Lawrenceburg, TN, Robert Hayes of Rising Sun, IN and Ronnie and Betty Hayes of East Enterprise, IN and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal-grandparents, Leslie McKenzie and Mary Ellen (Cole) McKenzie- McClellan; his paternal-grandparents, James P. and Olive M. (Lewis) Hayes; his niece, Megan Shelby Hayes; his uncles, Lewis Edward McKenzie, David "Buck" White, Richard "Rick" McKenzie, Elmer Lloyd "Dumpy" White, Ernest Ray "Ernie" McKenzie, Robert Lee "Hardly" McKenzie, Donald Hayes and Kenneth C. "Bucky" Pavy and his cousin, Loni Amber Lynn Turner.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., by Rev. Mike Jones at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 at the funeral home.
