Obituary for Petronella Louise "Pat" Deaton (Tebbe)
Mrs. Petronella Louise "Pat" (Tebbe) Deaton, age 90, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on October 3, 1931 in Batesville, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Leo Joseph and Alvina (Pulskamp) Tebbe. Pat was raised in Oak Forest, Indiana and was a 1949 graduate of Brookville High School. Pat was united in marriage on October 24, 1953 to Claude Deaton at the St. Philomena Catholic Church in Oak Forest, Indiana. This happy union of nearly 65 years was blessed with five children. They resided from 1953-1968 in Connersville, Indiana and later moved to Vevay, Indiana in 1968. Pat owned and operated with her husband the Vevay IGA from 1969-2000. Pat was a member of the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay, Indiana. She enjoyed quilting, working puzzles and playing cards. Pat passed away at 4:55 a.m., Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Sheila Gault and her husband, Larry of Vevay, IN; her sons, Greg Deaton and his wife, Jean of Madison, IN, Kent Deaton of Vevay, IN and Todd Deaton and his wife, Ruth of Columbus, IN; her grandchildren, Michael Gault, Nicholas Gault and his wife, Heather, Kevin Gault and his wife, Halie, Christopher Deaton and his wife, Megan, Jacob Deaton, Colin Deaton and his wife, Chelsea, Gabriel Deaton, Philip Deaton and his wife, Olivia, Jennifer McKenzie and her husband, Cole, Mathew Deaton and his wife, Carrie, Ryan Deaton and his wife, Heather, Jessica Majka and her husband, Frank and Rachel Deaton; her great-grandchildren, Hayden, Kennedy, Gavin, Nolan, Wyatt, Linkon, Lukas, Lawson, Adaline, Amelia, Audrey, Waylon and Elliott; her brothers, Keith Tebbe of Brookville, IN, Glenn Tebbe and his wife, Laura Jo of Greensburg, IN and Merle Tebbe and his wife, Susan of Crossville, TN and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Joseph Tebbe, died October 31, 1979 and Alvina (Pulskamp) Tebbe, died May 29, 1932; her husband, Claude Virgil Deaton, died February 21, 2018; her son, Eric William Deaton, died July 19, 2009; her great-grandchildren quintuplets, Frank James Majka, died June 30, 2020 and Eric William, Mary Elizabeth, Connor Michael and Georgia Louise Majka, died July 1, 2020; her brothers, Melvin A. Tebbe, died May 20, 2006 and Virgil Joseph Tebbe, died February 3, 2014; her sister, LaVerne Mary Saurerland, died August 20, 2018 and her twin sister, Leonella Anna Propes, died January 7, 2019.
The Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church, 513 North Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
