Obituary for Randall Clark Miller

Mr. Randall Clark Miller, age 79, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 6, 1942 in Vevay, Indiana. He was the son of the late, Earl Lloyd and Mildred (Rayles) Miller. He was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1961 graduate of the Vevay High School. Randall was inducted into the United States Marine Corps on July 15, 1963 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in the Vietnam War and received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Randall was honorably discharged on June 30, 1967 at the Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton, California. Randall was united in marriage to Frances Colleen Stivers on June 14, 1968 at the Plum Creek Baptist Church. This happy union of nearly 54 years was blessed with a son, Eric Robert Miller. Randall was employed as an explosive operator foreman for Jefferson Proving Ground in Madison, Indiana for 35 years. He was also employed as a delivery driver for meals on wheels for Council on Aging Area 21 of Vevay, Indiana. Randall resided most all of his life in the Switzerland County community and later moved to Scottsburg, Indiana from 1997-2000. Randall and Frances later moved back to the Switzerland County community where he resided until his passing. He was a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Plum Creek Baptist Church. Randall enjoyed watching TV and loved his dog, Sheva. Randall passed away at 6:15 a.m., Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Randall will be missed by his wife, Frances Colleen (Stivers) Miller of Vevay, IN; his son, Eric Robert Miller and his wife, Megan of Vevay, IN; his step-grandchildren, Heather, Julian (Matty) and Macie; his step-great-grandchildren, Michael and Kylie; his aunt, Joy Gregory and her husband, Buster of Rising Sun, IN; his nieces and nephews, Berinta (Eddy) Craig of Florence, IN, Lavonda (Keith) Walston of Aurora, IN, Rena Scudder & Andrea Scudder of Rising Sun, IN and Robert (Suzanne) Scudder Rising Sun, IN; his several great-nieces and great-nephews and his cousin, Brenda Gregory of Rising Sun, IN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lloyd Miller; his mother, Mildred (Rayles) Miller; his infant brother and his half-sister, Audrey Leah Scudder and her husband, Jim.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment and full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
