Obituary for Richard Lee "Rick" Green
Mr. Richard Lee "Rick" Green, age 68, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 31, 1952 in Shelbyville, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Arthur "Buddy" and Olive Frances (Baatz) Green. Rick was inducted into the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. He was united in marriage on December 25, 2005 in Gallatin County, Kentucky to the late Donna Mae Arthur. Rick and Donna shared nearly 12 years of marriage together until she passed away on May 16, 2017. Rick owned and operated Green's Construction in Switzerland County for 20 years. He resided in the Glencoe, Kentucky community for 10 years but spent most of his life in the Switzerland County community. He was a member of the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, Indiana. He was also a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and a life member of the Vevay VFW Post #5396. Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, computers and the outdoors. Rick passed away at 4:15 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Rick will be remembered by his son, Shawn Green of Commiskey, IN; his step daughters, Mariah Cunningham and her companion, Jason McCulley of Gallatin County, KY and Jessica Jones and her husband, Brian of Gallatin County, KY; his step-son, Jeffrey Cunningham of Shelbyville, KY; his grandchildren, Blake Green and Nicholas Smallwood; his 9-step-grandchildren; his brother, Larry Green and his wife, Frances of Madison, IN; his brother-in-law, Jim Burton of Moorefield, IN; his several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur "Buddy" Green, died August 23, 2011 and Olive Frances Green, died August 11, 2005; his sister, Kathy Sue (Green) Burton, died March 8, 2019 and his step-son, Randy Cunningham, died July 11, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., by Rev. Mike Sawalich at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment and full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison, Indiana.
