Robert Vernon "Bob" Koons, age 84, of Guilford, Indiana, formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana was born on October 6, 1937 in Patriot, Indiana. He was one of 15 children born to Carroll Eber and Elva May (DeWitt) Koons. Bob graduated in 1956 from Patriot High School. He attended the University of Cincinnati for two years and was on the dean's list. He later attended Cincinnati Bible College. On August 28, 1960, Bob was united in marriage to Mary Florence Patterson at the Church of Christ at Florence, Indiana. This happy union of nearly 62 years was blessed with three children, Mark, Michael and Melissa. Bob was employed with El Grande Construction in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was also in the transportation industry for 30 years prior. Bob was a member of the Batesville Christian Church where he served as an elder and a Sunday School teacher. Bob and Mary moved their family from Cincinnati to their farm in Guilford, Indiana in 1969. He farmed all of his life and enjoyed fishing, carpentry, a variety of sporting events, especially NASCAR and dirt track racing. Bob also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school events. He was always available to lend a helping hand to others and was a jack of all trades who could fix or build almost anything. Bob passed from this life on Monday, February 28, 2022.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary; his sons, Mark (Lisa) and Michael (Cynthia); his daughter, Melissa; his grandchildren, Alex, Ryan, Erin, Mallory (Myles), Evan, Amanda (Kraig), Bo (Celeste); his great-grandchildren, Jackson, Carter and Alexander and a baby boy to be born in April.

Also his siblings: sisters, Betty Hunt and Roberta Young (Howard); his brothers, Randall (Nancy) and Rex (Judy), sister-in-law, Bernice, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Russell, Roy (Juanita), Ray (Mary), Ralph (Ruth), Raymond, Ronald, Richard (Brenda), Renny, Reed; his sister, Juanita Hunt (JW) and his brother-in-law, Fred Hunt.

Services will be held on March 12, 2022 at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with the Funeral following at 12:00 p.m.

Graveside service will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Patriot, Indiana.
