Obituary for Ronald Lee "Ron" Brunner

Mr. Ronald "Ron" Lee Brunner, age 57, of Center Square, Indiana, entered this life on April 26, 1963 in Dearborn County, Indiana. He was one of eight children born to the parents of Arthur Val and Maxine Agatha (Mattox) Brunner. He was raised in Aurora, Indiana and was a 1983 graduate of South Dearborn High School. Ron was inducted into the United States Air Force on March 5, 1984 in Cincinnati. Ohio. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 11 oak leaf clusters, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 7 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with 1 service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Air Force Overseas Ribbon. He also received the Air Force Overseas Ribbon Long, Air Force Longevity Service with 4 oak leaf clusters, United States Air Force Non Commissioned Office Academy Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon with 2 oak leaf clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon with 1 service star and the Air Force Training Ribbon. He was a fuels craftsman for 13 years and 9 months, the missile facility manager for 1 year and 9 months and dormitory manager for 7 years and 11 months. Ron was honorably discharged and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant on September 30, 2007 at the Hill Air Force Base, Utah after 23 years of service to his country. Ron was a self-employed carpenter for several years. Ron was united in marriage to Lisa Kay Woodruff and this union was blessed with a son, Ronald and a daughter, Amber. He was later united in marriage on August 13, 2016 in Glencoe, Kentucky to Tammy Rene Zsolczai. This union of nearly five years blended two families together with the addition of a daughter, Jamie and a son, Tyler. Ron was a 10 year member of the East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department and the Aurora American Legion Post #231. He was a former boy scout in Aurora, Indiana and was a Cub Scout Troop Leader in Great Falls, Montana and Switzerland County, Indiana. Ron resided in the Center Square community since 2007. Ron enjoyed ATV's, fishing and hunting as well as, being a volunteer firefighter and serving his community. Ron will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. Ron lost his battle to stage IV military service related colon cancer at 2:09 a.m, Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at his residence in Center Square, Indiana.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Tammy Rene (Zsolczai) Brunner of Center Square, IN; his son, Ronald Lee Brunner II, and his wife, Pamela of Redlands, CA; his daughter, Amber Quintanilla and her husband, Frank of Center Square, IN; his grandchildren, Thomas, Anthony, Logan, Carter, Ernesto, Monica and Argeo; his step-children, Jamie Morgan of Louisville, KY and Tyler Morgan and his wife, Linda of Glencoe, KY; his step-grandchildren, Aaron, Dillion, Savannah, Aubrey and Arieanna; his sisters, Bonny Prudhomme and her husband, Jon of Cadiz, KY, Helen Stow and her husband, Jerry of Milan, IN and Mary Jo Sloan and her husband, Rick of Aurora, IN; his brothers, Kerry Brunner of Aurora, IN, Robert Brunner and his wife, Marla of Aurora, IN and James Sedler and his wife, Martha of Aurora, IN; his sister-in-law, Debbie Brunner of Aurora, IN and his numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Val Brunner, died February 13, 1980 and Maxine Agatha (Mattox) Brunner, died January 31, 2006 and his brother, Marc William Brunner, died September 30, 2019.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department, 13091 North State Road 56, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

The firemen of the East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department will honor the memory of Ron on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department, 13091 North State Road 56, Vevay, Indiana 47043. Full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 at the East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison, Indiana.
