Obituary for Shirley Fay Tingle (Harlow)
Shirley Fay (Harlow) Tingle, age 77, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on June 19, 1944 in Covington, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late William Robert and Lucinda Elizabeth Wilson Harlow. Shirley was raised in Ohio County, Indiana where she attended high school. Shirley was united in marriage on October 12, 1962 to Charles Larry Tingle in Vevay, Indiana. This union of 19 years was blessed with three sons, Larry, Jeffrey and Lonnie. Shirley was formerly employed for the US Shoe Factory and Randall's Textron in Vevay, Indiana for several years. She was also employed for Conn Organ in Madison, Indiana for several years. She was later employed in security for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana, retiring in 2008 after six years. Shirley resided most of her life in the Vevay, Indiana community and was a member of The River Apostolic Church. She was also a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 Ladies Auxiliary. Shirley enjoyed baking and spending time with her family. Shirley passed away at 8:39 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2022, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Tingle and his fiancée, Cindy Haskell of Vevay, IN and Lonnie Tingle and his wife, Debbie of Lawrenceburg, IN; her grandchildren, Isaiah Tingle, whom Shirley helped raise, Jessica Leap and her husband, Dale, Michele Tingle and Logan Tingle; her step-grandson, Cory Brophy; her great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Destiny, Bryson, McKayla, Hanna and Kolton; her step-great-grandchild, Rhythm; her sister, Mary Jane Kincaid and her husband, Charlie of East Enterprise, IN; her several nieces and nephews and two young men who were like sons to her, Bobby Hite and Tim "T-Bird" Steelman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William R. and Lucinda Wilson Harlow; her son, Larry Carlysle "Charlie" Tingle; her great-grandson, Dylan Jennings; her brothers, George, Paul and Robert "Bobby" Harlow and her step-son, Charles Tingle, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., by Bro. Anthony Wilks, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Aberdeen, Indiana.
