Obituary for Shirley Jean White (Scott)

Mrs. Shirley Jean (Scott) White, age 79, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on January 27, 1942 in Switzerland County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Raymond Everett and Blanch (Reed) Scott. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana where she was a 1960 graduate of Vevay High School. Shirley was united in marriage on April 22, 1965 in Vevay, Indiana, to William E. "Bud" White. Shirley and Bud shared over 37 years of marriage together until he passed away on September 23, 2002. Shirley was employed as a finisher for Nine West (US Shoe Factory) in Vevay, Indiana, retiring in 1999 after 41 years of service. She was later employed in housekeeping for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana, for 15 years. Shirley was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and flowers. Shirley passed away unexpectedly at 6:56 p.m., Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Shirley will be missed by her daughter, Tina Henry and her husband, Dean of Vevay, IN; her sons, Danny Hehe and his wife, Ruth Ann of Thorn Hill, TN, Darrin White and his companion, Debbie Wilhoite of Vevay, IN and Randy White and his wife, Michelle of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Josh Henry, Jessica Caraker, Natalie Hummel, Emily Schroeder, Quintin Hehe, Samuel White, Jackson White and Holly Kendall; her great-grandchildren, Katie Metsker, Maggie Henry, Carly Skirvin, Riley Henry, Amelia Schroeder and Hensley Hehe and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Everett and Blanch (Reed) Scott; her husband, William E. "Bill" White; her sister, Evelyn B. McAlister; her brothers, Harland and James Scott and her infant brother, Vernon Scott.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2021, by Dean Henry, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
