Obituary for Tonya Lynn Moore (Moon)

Mrs. Tonya Lynn (Moon) Moore, age 67, of Madison, Indiana, formerly of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on December 25, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Emmett and Mary Jane (Hatfield) Moon. She was a 1971 graduate of Dillsboro High School and earned her bachelor's degree in 1978 from Ball State University. Tonya was united in marriage on July 18, 1980 in Rising Sun, Indiana to Lester Dale "Piddle" Moore. This happy union was blessed with a daughter Maggie. Tonya and Lester shared over 40 years of marriage together until her death. Tonya was employed as a substitute teacher and librarian for the Switzerland County School Corporation for 28 years. She was later employed for Belterra Casino and Resort in the flower shop for several years. Tonya served on the Switzerland County School Board for four years and resided in the Switzerland County community since 1978. Tonya passed away at 7:12 a.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the Hickory Creek at Madison in Madison, Indiana.

Tonya will be missed by her husband, Lester Dale Moore of Madison, IN; her daughter, Margaret "Maggie" (Moore) Reese and her husband, Joe of Aurora, IN; her grandchildren, Leyton, Mya and Daylyn; her brother, Bill Moon of Osgood, IN; her sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Day and her husband, Jim of North Vernon, IN, Cindy Kessler and her husband, Danny of Paris Crossing, IN, Kathy Moon of Menifee, CA and Judy Green of Seymour, IN and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Mary Jane (Hatfield) Moon and her brother, Tim Moon.

Due to COVID-19, private immediate family visitation will be held.

Due to COVID-19, private funeral services will be held.

A Celebration of Tonya's life will be held at a later date.

Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Patriot, Indiana.
