Obituary for Virginia Ann "Ginny" Leap (Martin)

Mrs. Virginia Ann "Ginny" (Martin) Leap, age 74, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 4, 1946 in Florence, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Margaret Anna Martin. She was raised in Florence, Indiana and was a 1964 graduate of Vevay High School. Ginny was united in marriage on April 26, 1969 at the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church to the late Donald Dale "Donnie" Leap. This union was blessed with two daughters, Marci Lynn and Michelle Lynn. Ginny and Donnie shared 46 years of marriage together until he passed away on December 24, 2015. On June 1, 1964, Ginny was employed as the office manager for the Vevay Reveille, retiring on June 1, 2015 after 52 years of service. Ginny was a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary and Florence Church of Christ. Ginny enjoyed reading and was a great proof reader! Ginny will be deeply missed by her loving family, friends and her community. Ginny passed away at 5:19 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Ginny will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Marci Lynn Leap of Vevay, IN and Michelle Lynn Carfield and her husband, Joe of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, James Dustin Carfield, Kali Carfield and her wife, Alyssa Carfield, Courtney Ryan Carfield and Kylie Jo Carfield; her great-grandson, Derek Joseph Wade Carfield; her sister, Ruth Lohide of East Enterprise, IN and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Anna Martin, died November 24, 1995; her husband, Donald Dale "Donnie" Leap, died December 24, 2015 and her sister, Betty Jean (Martin) Mishler, died August 9, 2015.

Due to COVID-19 and in keeping with the CDC guidelines, masks are required along with social distancing. Friends may call 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2020, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
