Obituary for William Boone "Bill" Jewell

Mr. William Boone "Bill" Jewell, age 81, of Lamb, Indiana, entered this life on August 30, 1938 in Jefferson County, Indiana. He was the son of the late Daniel Boone and Alice Bernice (Woodfill) Jewell. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana where he was a 1957 graduate of the Vevay High School. Bill was united in marriage on January 24, 1958 in Trimble County, Kentucky to Mary Lenna Lawson. This happy union was blessed with two sons, Steve and Tim. Bill and Mary shared nearly 61 years of marriage together until his death. Bill was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Madison, Indiana retiring after 40 years of service. He held membership in the Union Baptist Church in Lamb, Indiana. Bill enjoyed riding horses, four-wheelers and his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by his loving family. Bill passed away at 1:24 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Bill will be missed by his wife, Mary Lenna Jewell of Lamb, IN; his son, Tim Jewell and his wife, Sherri of Lamb, IN; his grandchildren, Erin Brunck and her husband, Mark, Jason Jewell and his wife, Savannah and Cody Jewell; his great-grandchildren, Alexis Brunck and Colman Jewell; his sisters, Mary Simmons of Lamb, IN and Thelma Seel of Lexington, IN and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Boone and Alice Bernice (Woodfill) Jewell; his son, Steve Daniel Jewell, died March 14, 2018 and his brother-in-law, James E. "Jimmy" Simmons, died January 5, 2018.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 15, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., by Rev. Mike Barnes at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison, Indiana.
