Mr. William Richard "Bill" Olds, age 88, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on April 25, 1933 in Vevay, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late, Turner A. and Dorothy E. (Conner) Olds. Bill was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana where he attended Vevay High School. Bill was united in marriage to Darlene H. Herd on April 4, 1992 in Carrollton, Kentucky. Bill and Darlene shared over 29 years of marriage together until his passing. Bill owned and operated Bill Olds Auto Body Shop in Vevay, Indiana for over 50 years. Bill was a former school board member and was very instrumental in the planning phase of building the new Switzerland County High School. He also was a former volunteer fireman for the Jeff-Craig Volunteer Fire Department in Vevay, Indiana. He was a member of the Switzerland Masonic Lodge #122 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and Murat Shrine of Indianapolis. He was also a member of the Aurora Moose Lodge No. 1464 and the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church. He was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash. In his early years of life, Bill enjoyed racing and building go-carts with his son, Bruce. He also loved dogs and enjoyed tinkering and restoring cars and hot rods. Bill passed away at 7:20 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Bill will be missed by his wife, Darlene H. (Herd) Olds of Vevay, IN; his daughter, Deborah Hackman and her husband, Jim of Melissa, TX; his step-daughters, Vonda Land of Vevay, IN and Audra Ridener of Danville, IN; his grandchildren, Judd Hackman, Brett Hackman and Kelsey and Mallory Olds; his step-grandchildren, Andrew Ridener, Hilary Hart and Katelyn Doherty; his great-grandchildren, Harper, Jaucelyn, Coy, Finley, Leland "William", Noah and one on the way, Tatum Paige and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Turner A. Olds, died September 19, 1960 and Dorothy E. (Conner) Olds, died October 6, 1955; his son, Bruce Edward Olds, died November 6, 2020 and his brothers, Harold Eugene "Gene" Old, died May 12, 1996 and Edward Dwight Olds, died June 22, 1999.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral and Masonic Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will be held at a later date in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
