Mrs. Ruth (Chase) Romans, age 81, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on February 27, 1933, in Florence, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Clarence & Mary Ellen (Reed) Chase. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana, where she attended school. Ruth was united in marriage on February 10, 1952, in Switzerland County, Indiana, to the late, Claude R. Romans & to this union arrived three sons, Mike, Dale & Dennis to bless their home. Ruth & Claude shared 32 years of marriage together until Claude passed away on September 10, 1984. In 1963, Ruth was employed at the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, for 19 years & retired from the Plastic Molding Inc. in East Enterprise, Indiana, in 1984. Ruth enjoyed watching golf, old country western shows & the Waltons on T.V. She also enjoyed family visits. Ruth died at 6:24 am, Monday, August 25, 2014, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ruth will be missed by her sons: Mike Romans & his wife: Rhonda of Vevay, IN, Dale Romans of Florence, IN, Dennis Romans & his wife: Amy of Verona, KY; her 10-grandchildren, 18-great-grandchildren & 3-great-great-grandchildren; her sisters: Betty Raisor of Moores Hill, IN, Cora Wilson of Madison, IN, Beulah "Bootie" Thornton of Vevay, IN, Elizabeth "Liz" Little of Florence, IN; her brother: Clarence "Buster" Chase, Jr. & his wife: Norma of Vevay, IN; her sister-in-laws: Virginia Kelly of Rising Sun, IN, Janice Meadors of Patriot, IN, Vivian Chase of Vevay, IN & Doris Chase of Florence, IN; her brother-in-law: Vernon Romans of SC; her several nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends & will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence & Mary Ellen (Reed) Chase; her husband of 32 years: Claude R. Romans, died September 10, 1984; her sisters: Viola "Sis" Gregory, Geraldine Peters & Leo "Ike" Chase; her brothers: Donald Lee Chase & Paul Chase.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Ron Lee, at the New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise, Indiana.

Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise, Indiana.
