Life Story for Mrs. Aldean M. (Pavy) Wiley

Mrs. Aldean M. (Pavy)  Wiley
Mrs. Aldean M. (Pavy) Wiley, age 91, of Mt. Sterling, Indiana, was called home to be with her heavenly Father at 7:00 am, on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana, after a brief illness. She was born in Fairview, Indiana, on September 10, 1923, the cherished daughter of, Leroy & Metah Irene (Seavers) Pavy. Following the death of her young mother, when Aldean was 2 years old, she was raised by her maternal grandparents, James & Maud (Detraz) Seavers. Aldean graduated from Vevay High School in 1942 & moved to Anderson, Indiana to work at Delco Remey. After returning to Switzerland County, she married Leland R. Wiley on November 30, 1946. This happy union was blessed with four children, Cookie, Butch, Linda & Alvin. Aldean worked side by side with Leland for 49 years, building Wiley Farms, raising tobacco, corn, soy beans & milking a large herd of Holstein cows morning & night. Her favorite task was bottle feeding baby calves. She was an excellent cook & made many meals for hired hands. This union lasted until Leland's death on August 8, 1995. Aldean continued managing until her death. Over the years, Aldean was active as a 4-H Leader, 4-H Fair Board Member, 50 year member of the Center Square Home Economics Club, Vevay High School Band Boosters & among other things. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church for over 60 years & served as a Sunday School Teacher as well as President of the Ladies Aid Auxiliary for many years. She was honored in 2001 as the Switzerland County 4-H Fair Mrs. Switzerland County. Later interests included reading, watching Tiger Woods play golf & keeping up with IU & Purdue Basketball. Above all she loved & supported her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren & her great-great-grandchildren & was always supportive & proud of their many activities & endeavors. In the early years she enjoyed watching Leland & the boys pull tractors. She was an incredible lady & friend as well as a Mother & Grandmother & was respected by all who knew her. On January 6, 2015, heaven opened up to accept a true angel.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Leroy & Metah Irene (Seavers) Pavy & her husband: Leland R. Wiley, died August 8, 1995.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 11, 2015, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Mike Sawalich, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.

Friends may call 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
