Life Story for Wilma S. Firsich (Scudder)

Wilma S.  Firsich (Scudder)
Wilma entered this life on December 10, 1915, in Switzerland County, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Harry and Annabelle (Scott) Scudder. She was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1933 graduate of the Vevay High School. She was the Office Manager for the Southeastern Insurance Company in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, retiring at the age of 55, after 10 years of service. She volunteered as a messenger and greeter at the information desk for the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, for 31 years and was honored for serving 10,000 + hours. Wilma was a member of the Lawrenceburg American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #239, the Legacy Society of the Switzerland County Community Foundation and the Legacy Society of the Dearborn County Community Foundation, where she established the first charitable gift annuity. Wilma was so pleased to become a Legacy Society member of the Foundation and to know that her gift will be used to continue to address the changing needs of Dearborn County forever. Wilma was a former Treasurer and faithful member of the Lawrenceburg Wesleyan Church in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. She served as Treasurer for the Hastie Cemetery in Markland, Indiana. She served on the RSVP advisory board and was a volunteer for RSVP helping over 30 organizations. Wilma was very active in her community, where she dedicated many hours as a volunteer and much happiness to all who knew her. Wilma enjoyed her philanthropic endeavors, traveling & was a member of the Rosie Reds, where she enjoyed going to the Spring training Camp with the Cincinnati Reds. For 35 Years, she has been doing water exercise & volunteers at the Western Hill Health Club. Wilma will be dearly missed by her family, friends and her community where she has left a legacy. Wilma died at 6:15 pm Thursday February 12, 2015, at the Woodland Hills Care Center in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry & Annabelle (Scott) Scudder; her brothers: Marshall Bud Scudder, Scott Scudder & Wilbur "Ick" Scudder; her sisters: Helen Tyler, Suzie Turner, Opal Lockwood, Olive Ricketts, Lena Parker & Dorothy Slack.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 15, 2015, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Ron Lee, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043. Interment will follow in the Hastie Cemetery, Markland, Indiana
