Mr. John Michael "Mike" Swift, age 68, of East Enterprise, Indiana, entered this life on April 21, 1947, in Aurora, Indiana, the loving son of, John Dorman & Edna Ellen (Heath) Swift. He was raised in Aurora, Indiana, where he was a 1965 graduate of Aurora High School. He was united in marriage on June 29, 1975, in Dillsboro, Indiana, to Dotte Kidwell Houze & they shared nearly 40 years of marriage together until his death. Mike was a Sales Manger for Tandy Clothing in Aurora, Indiana, retiring in 2005 after 39 years of service. He was a former employee for the Aurora Casket Company. Mike was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Aurora, Indiana. He will be remembered for his love of being an avid Cincinnati Reds Fan, collecting baseball cards & baseball memorabilia. Mike died at 2:49 am, Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at his residence in East Enterprise, Indiana.
Mike will be missed by his wife of nearly 40 years: Dotte (Kidwell) Houze Swift of East Enterprise, IN; his daughters: Peggy Smith of East Enterprise, IN, Michelle Missy Lowe & her husband: Kevin of Kansas City, KS & Buffy A. Swift of Moores Hill, IN; his son: Floyd Kittle, Jr. of East Enterprise, IN; his 13-grandchildren & his 4-great-grandchildren; his mother: Edna Ellen (Heath) Swift of Aurora, IN; his brother: Wayne Swift & his wife: Cheryl of Aurora, IN; his sisters: Kathy Scudder of Aurora, IN & Karen Caudill & her husband: Dexter of Milan, IN & his several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: John Dorman Swift; his stillborn son: John Michael Swift, Jr. died in 1977; his son: David Wayne Kittle, died in 2003; his grandson: Brandon John Kittle, died in 1992 & his son-in-law: Robert Nim "Robbie" Smith died, November 3, 2011.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 1, 2015, at 1:00 pm, by Pastor KC Banta, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
