Mrs. Norma "Jean" (Christman) Snyder, age 91, of Vevay, Indiana, formerly of Pleasant, Indiana, entered this life on January 28, 1924, in Pleasant, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Clyde & Mary F. (Jackson) Christman. She was raised in Pleasant, Indiana & was a 1943 graduate of Vevay High School. Jean was united in marriage in 1946 to Maurice Ralph Werner. Jean was later united in marriage on June 2, 1964, at a Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late, Charles William Snyder. Jean & Charles shared 33 years of marriage together until his death on September 17, 1997. Jean was a former Sales Clerk for the Shillito's Department Store in Cincinnati, Ohio, retiring in 1978 after 24 years of service. Over the years, Jean resided in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bradenton, Florida, Dillsboro, Indiana, Versailles, Indiana, Pleasant, Indiana & Vevay, Indiana. She was a former member of the Hope Rebekah Lodge for many years & the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Pleasant, Indiana. Jean will be remembered for her love of dancing, fashion, decorating, debating & debating the issues, but most of all, her family history was very important to her. Jean died at 10:25 pm, Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Jean will be missed by her brother: William "Bill" Christman & his wife: Wanda of Vevay, IN; her sister-in-law: Sue Christman of Pleasant, IN; her several nieces & nephews; her step-daughter: Nancy Jane Coats of Raleigh, NC; her step-son-in-law: Ralph Conway of Cincinnati, OH & her 4-step-grandsons & several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Clyde Christman, died March 6, 1972 & Mary F. (Jackson) Christman, died December 27, 1998; her husband: Charles William Snyder, died September 17, 1997; her brothers: Raymond, Ralph Leon, Harold "Mose" & Jerry Christman; her sister: Marjorie L. "Pete" Ryker & her step-daughter: Mary Ann Conway.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at 11:00 am, by Pastor KC Banta, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Cemetery, Pleasant, Indiana.
