Mrs. Lucy Ellen (Niccum) Beatty, age 83, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on November 2, 1931, on Hominy Ridge in Florence, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Henry & Mary E. (Ernst) Niccum. She was raised in East Enterprise, Indiana, where she attended the Greenwood School. Lucy was united in marriage on September 19, 1953, in Vevay, Indiana, to the late, Ray F. Beatty & to this union arrived a son, Mike & a daughter, Donna to bless their home. Lucy & Ray shared 35 years of marriage together until he passed away on September 17, 1988. Lucy was a former Top Stitcher for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, for several years. She enjoyed helping her husband on the farm & was a wonderful homemaker. Lucy will be remembered for her love of enjoying the outdoors & taking care of her flowers. Lucy died at 10:55 am, Sunday, May 24, 2015, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Lucy will be missed by her son: Mike Beatty & his wife: Jo Kay of Florence, IN; her daughter: Donna Mink & her husband: Dewayne of Florence, IN; her sister-in-laws: Willowdean Niccum of Aberdeen, IN, Doris Niccum of Harrison, OH & Margaret Beatty of Florence, IN & her several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry & Mary E. (Ernst) Niccum; her husband of 35 years: Ray F. Beatty, died September 17, 1988; her brothers: James Frank, Charles, Thomas, Arthur, Wilbur, Donald & Ralph Niccum; her sisters: Agnes Scudder, Louise Stewart & Rosetta V. "Rosie" Craig.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 1:00 pm, by Bro. Anthony Wilks, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
