Life Story for Rexford "Darrell" Byrd

Rexford "Darrell"  Byrd
Mr. Rexford "Darrell" Byrd, age 61, of Pleasant, Indiana, entered this life on October 18, 1953, in London, Kentucky, the son of the late, Homer Ernest & Dorothy Jane (Creech) Byrd. He was raised in London, Kentucky, until the age of 10. In 1963, the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he attended the St. Bernard High School. Darrell was united in marriage on March 25, 1972, in Newport, Kentucky, to Deborah Lee Meyer & to this union arrived three daughters, Angela, Andrea & Alicia to bless their home. Darrell & Deborah shared 43 years of marriage together until his death. He was a former truck delivery driver, for 20 years. Darrell was employed for Multi Server, a sub contractor for Gallatin Steel in Ghent, Kentucky, for 3 years. He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Fairview, Indiana. Darrell will be remembered for his love of fishing, gardening, cooking & keeping a meticulous lawn. Darrell was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother & uncle. Darrell died at 7:11 pm, Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Darrell will be missed by his wife of nearly 43 years: Deborah Lee (Meyer) Byrd of Pleasant, IN; his daughters: Angela Byrd of Pleasant, IN, Andrea Miller of Vine Grove, KY & Alicia Watkins of Pleasant, IN; his grandchildren: Braydon Watkins, Rylee Watkins, Ronni Watkins, Payton Miller & Kirstyn Miller; his brothers: Bro. Hobert Byrd & his wife: Mary of Fairview, IN, Jerry Byrd & his wife: Debra of Cincinnati, OH, Gary Byrd & his wife: Marilyn of Cincinnati, OH, Dennis Byrd & his wife: Theresè of Cincinnati, OH & James Byrd of Alexandria, KY; his sisters: Brenda Byrd & her husband: Danny of Cincinnati, OH, Maureen Kuntz & her husband: Dan of Myrtle Creek, OR, Sandra Ward & her husband: Dennis of Cincinnati, OH & Rosemary Trippel of Myrtle Creek, OR & his several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Homer Ernest & Dorothy Jane (Creech) Byrd; his brothers: Homer Lee Byrd, David Howard Byrd & Douglas Lee Byrd.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 8, 2015, at 1:00 pm, by Bro. Hobert Byrd, at the Fairview Baptist Church, in Fairview, Indiana.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Cemetery, Pleasant, Indiana

Friends may call 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday, June 8, 2015, at the Fairview Baptist Church in Fairview, Indiana 47043.
