Life Story for William Alfred "Bill" Wiseman

Mr. William A. "Bill" Wiseman, age 89, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on October 31, 1925, in Paterson, New Jersey, the son of the late, William & Mable Ellen (Ackerman) Wiseman. He was raised in Fair Lawn, New Jersey & was a 1943 graduate of the East Paterson High School in Paterson, New Jersey. At the age of 17, Bill was inducted into the United States Coast Guard on October 24, 1943, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged on March 29, 1946. Bill was united in marriage on November 26, 1950, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wallington, New Jersey, to Stasia Philomena Puzio. Bill & Stasia shared nearly 65 years of marriage together until his death. Bill was a self-employed construction worker, for 30 years. He enjoyed performing at Walt Disney World at the Glory & Pageantry of Christmas as the shepherd & was a performer at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. He also enjoyed performing the character of Abraham Lincoln, from 1976-2007. He was employed for the Switzerland County Tourism Office at the Belterra Casino & Resort, for 6 years. He was a volunteer & board member for the Historic Hoosier Theater in Vevay, Indiana. He was a dulcimer maker & performer of the folk music genre performing in White Springs, Florida, for many years. He was an Auxiliary Policeman for the Fair Lawn Police Department in Fair Lawn, New Jersey & for the Lake County Sheriff's Department in Tavares, Florida. He was a member of the Vevay Music Club, the Vevay American Legion Post #185, the Vevay VFW Post #5396 & was a US Coast Guard Flotilla Financial Officer. He was an avid bicyclist, where he enjoyed a 2000 mile bicycle trip with his wife, Stacia in the late 1980's. He enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Trail for many years with his family. Bill died at 4:30 am, Friday, June 12, 2015, at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.

Bill will be missed by his loving wife of nearly 65 years: Stasia P. (Puzio) Wiseman of Vevay, IN; his daughters: Terri E. Wiseman & her companion: Dave Williams of Newport, KY & Sheree Barrell & her husband: Eric of Lawrenceburg, IN; his granddaughters: Sirena Sage Barrell & Olivia Rose Barrell.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William & Mable Ellen (Ackerman) Wiseman.
