Miss Grace Elizabeth Brown, age 93, of Vevay, Indiana, formerly of Milan, Indiana, entered this life on March 31, 1922, in Craig Township, Switzerland County, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Thomas Emory and Prudie (Todd) Brown. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1940 graduate of the Vevay High School. In 1945, Grace moved to the Milan, Indiana community where she had resided for the past 70 years. Grace retired as a cashier from the Ben Franklin Store in Milan, Indiana, after 37 years of service. In her early years of life, she attended the Spring Branch Baptist Church and the Long Run Baptist Church. She was a member of the Milan United Methodist Church in Milan, Indiana, and was a member of the Milan United Methodist Women Society. She was also a member of the Bennington Order of Eastern Star #407 and the Milan Internationally Yours Club. Grace will be remembered for her love of quilting, sewing and babysitting. Grace passed away at 11:55 pm, Friday, September 25, 2015, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Grace will be missed by her sister: Clarabell Crandell of Moorefield, IN; her 3-nieces, 9-nephews, several great nieces & great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Emory, died February 10, 1942 & Prudie (Todd) Brown, died June 10, 1983; her brothers: Carl T. Brown, died July 2, 1999, Robert E. Brown, died August 24, 2000 & Fred W. Brown, died August 11, 2000; her step-sister: Clara Burroughs; her sisters-in-law: Hazel V. Brown died: February 20, 1997, Nora F. Brown, died December 25, 2012, Marian Brown & Hazel Brown & her brother-in-law: Carl Scott Crandell, died July 11, 1997.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 1, 2015, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Pam Wooden & Pastor KC Banta, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana

Eastern Star services will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the funeral home.
