Mr. Donald Keith Harman, age 78, of Bennington, Indiana, entered this life on June 10, 1937 in Kosciusko, Indiana, the loving son of the late, Carl Donald and Eva Marie (Aimes) Harman. He was raised in Kewanee, Indiana and was a 1955 graduate of the Kewanee High School. Donald attended the Kendell College in Illinois for one year and Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana for one year. He received his Bachelor's of Education and his Master's in Education from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Donald was united in marriage on September 2, 1959, in Rochester, Indiana, to Beverly Jean Roberts and to this union arrived two sons to bless their home. Donald and Beverly shared 55 loving years of marriage together until his death. Donald was inducted into the Indiana Army National Guard on August 6, 1962 in Logansport, Indiana. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant on April 5, 1966, in Muncie, Indiana. Donald was a former Teacher for the Brookston Elementary in Indiana, Pennville Elementary in Jay County, Indiana, the Soldier's and Sailors Children's Home in Knightstown, Indiana and for Triton Central Junior High in Shelby County, Indiana. Donald was a former Physical Ed Teacher for the Jeff-Craig Elementary and the Switzerland County Elementary. He was a former Teacher for the Switzerland County High School. He was a former Principal and Teacher for the Patriot High School. Donald retired in 1997, after 20 years of service from the Switzerland County School Corporation. He was a member of the Indiana Retired Teacher's Association. Donald was an avid hunter, gardener and carpenter and was a passionate member of the Republican Party. Donald passed away peacefully at 6:40 pm, Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at The Water's of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

Donald will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 55 years: Beverly Jean (Roberts) Harman of Bennington, IN; his loving sons: Bryan Harman of Seymour, IN & Brad Harman of Madison, IN; his adoring grandson: Adam Harman of Madison, IN & his several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Carl Donald & Eva Marie (Aimes) Harman; his grandson: Jeremy Harman; his brother: Tom Harman & his sister: Eleanor Ort.

Private Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
