Mr. Richard Charles "Rick" Peelman, age 69, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on October 16, 1946, in Madison, Indiana, the loving son of the late, Herbert Lee and Blanche E. (Romans) Peelman-Martin. Rick attended the Vevay High School in Vevay, Indiana. Rick was united in marriage on May 8, 1969, at the Plum Creek Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana, to Helen Marie Swango and to this union arrived five sons, Mike, Shawn, Kevin, Tony and Travis to bless their home. Rick was later united in marriage on April 13, 2001, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee to Mary Jane "Janey" Furnish. Rick was employed for Reliance Electric for 34 years and for Ghent Power Plant as a Security Guard for 6 years. Rick was a member of the Jeff Craig Fire Department for 25 years. He was a special deputy for the Vevay Police Department and was an EMT for the Switzerland County Emergency Unit for 25 years. He was also a member of the Vevay Church of Christ in Vevay, Indiana. Rick enjoyed going on rides in his truck with his dog, Abby. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Rick passed away at 10:04 am, Thursday March 3, 2016, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Bennett & his wife: Linda of Madison, IN, Kevin Peelman & his wife: Angie of Scottsburg, IN, Tony Peelman & his wife: Kim of Vevay, IN & Travis Peelman & his wife: Sherri of Vevay, IN; his daughters: Gail Davis & her husband: Benjie of Vevay, IN & Anessa McFadden & her husband: Johnny of Madison, IN; his grandchildren: Nate, Mattie, Brittany, Chelsey, Arron, Amelia, Adrienne, Amber, Ashley, Austin, Zach, Trevor, Dillon, Kaison, Jaylen, Maci, Ashley, Chris, Alijah, Jace, Tanner, Deven, Tiffanie & Tabbitha; his several great-grandchildren; his brothers: Harold Peelman & his wife: Geraldine of Vevay, IN & Leon Peelman & his wife: Joan of Vevay, IN; his sisters: Laverne Wagner & her husband: Sonny of Vevay, IN & Mary Lou Shaw of East Enterprise, IN & his several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert Lee Peelman, died August 11, 1997 & Blanche E. (Romans) Peelman Martin, died April 9, 1992; his step-father: Oscar Roger Martin, died November 30, 1994; his step-son: Jarrod Hambrick; his step-grandson: Dakota McFadden; his brothers: Kenneth Peelman, Robert L. "Bob" Peelman, died October 29, 2000 & Johnny Peelman.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Wayne Daugherty, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
