Life Story for Alan Ames Stevens

Alan Ames  Stevens
Mr. Alan Ames Stevens, age 74, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 2, 1942 in San Francisco, California the son of the late, Edwin "Babe" and Anne "Rooney" (Silver) Stevens. He was raised in San Francisco where he attended the University of California (Berkley) receiving his Bachelor's in Chemistry and later attended the San Jose State where he received his Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry. Alan served for 7 years as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Public Health Service stationed at Dauphin Island, Alabama. Alan also worked for 25 years for the United States Environmental Protection Agency as both a Research Chemist and later as Director of Technical Support Division in Cincinnati, Ohio. Alan had resided in the Vevay community for the past nine years where he has made many friendships and shared his life long love of the outdoors especially boating, fishing, and hunting. Alan was also an avid history buff especially river history. He was a volunteer and member of the Switzerland County Historical Society. Alan will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Alan passed away at 3:35 pm, Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Alan will be dearly missed by his partner of 20 years: Linda Papa of Vevay, IN; his daughters: Jacquelyn Anne Stevens of Cleveland Heights, OH and Jennifer Lynn Kroner and her husband: Steve of Burlington, KY; his grandchildren: Benjamin Alan and Rebecca Lee Kroner; his sister: Janet Lovell and her husband: Marker; his brother: Donald Stevens and his wife: Kathy; his special cousin: Edwin Katlas and his companion: Shari Crew; his nephews: Charles Lovell and his wife: Amanda and Marker J. Lovell and his wife: Allison and his niece: Elizabeth Aspland and her husband: Terry.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Edwin "Babe" and Anne "Rooney" Stevens.

No Services are being held at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ducks Unlimited Nature Conservation or to the Switzerland County Historical Society % Community Foundation of Switzerland County. Cards are available at the funeral home.
