Life Story for Rev. Howard Edward Wade

Rev. Howard Edward  Wade
Rev. Howard Edward Wade, age 64, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 11, 1953, in Madison, Indiana, the loving son of the late, Edward Norton and Dorothy Faye (Barnes) Wade. He was raised in Carrollton, Kentucky where he was a 1971 graduate of the Carrollton High School. Howard graduated in 1989 from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Howard was united in marriage on August 25, 1972, at the Ghent Baptist Church in Ghent, Kentucky, to Bonnie Ruth Skirvin and to this union arrived two daughters, April and Michelle and a son, Christopher to bless their home. Howard and Bonnie shared nearly 45 loving years of marriage together until his sudden passing. He was the Meat Manager for Parkview IGA in Carrollton, Kentucky, for 20 years. Howard served as Pastor of the Concord Community Church from 1987 to 1992. Howard served as Pastor for Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Greensburg, Indiana, from 1993 to 1995. He served as Pastor of the Switzerland Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana, from March 1995 to 2008. Howard served as Pastor for Baptist Temple in Logansport, Indiana for 6 1/2 years. He resided in the Logansport, Indiana community for several years while in the ministry and later moved back to the Vevay community that he always called "Home". Howard served as Pastor for Cross Plains Baptist Church for 1 year and had been serving as Associate Pastor for the Spring Branch Baptist Church for the past year. He was a former member of the Vevay Lions Club since 1995. Howard was a former chaplain for the King's Daughters' Hospital and for Hospice of King's Daughter's in Madison, Indiana since 2003. Howard enjoyed pastoring worship services on Tuesday's at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana. He also enjoyed collecting Route 66 memorabilia and lighthouses. He also enjoyed studying the origin of hymns and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31. Howard went to be with his Lord and Savior at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 23, 2017, at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.
Rev. Howard Wade will be deeply missed by his loving wife of nearly 45 years: Bonnie Ruth (Skirvin) Wade of Vevay, IN; his daughters: April Lynn Mullins and her companion: Gregory of Vevay, IN and Michelle Leigh Wade of Harrison, OH; his son: Christopher Howard Wade and his wife: Julie of Madison, IN; his granddaughter they raised: Jennifer Brown of Ghent, KY; his granddaughter: Brittany Michelle Brown of Logansport, IN; his grandson: Christian David Mullins of Vevay, IN; his great-grandchildren, Savannah Rose Pavy, Sarah Allen, Benjamin Allen, Danielle Allen and Lillyann Peltz; his brother: Rev. Robert "Bobby" Allen Wade and his wife: Pam of Bedford, KY; his sister: Sandra Jean Wagoner and her husband: Keith of Bedford, KY and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward Norton and Dorothy Faye (Barnes) Wade and his sister: Burnetta Faye Wade.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 11:00 am, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
