Russell E. Hopper Sr., 77, of Dewitt, MI passed away January 29, 2018. Russell was born in Vevay, IN December 22, 1940 to Earl and Cleta Hopper. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. After working for General Motors for 32 years, Russell retired in 1999. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and word searches, was a big U of M and Chicago Bears fan, loved NASCAR and antique car shows, and liked to get out and mow the lawn. He enjoyed waxing his car, as well as his lawnmower and the kids' bikes. Above all, Russell loved spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Paul Hopper.

Surviving to cherish his memory are wife, Janet (Sitter) Hopper; sons, Russell Jr. (Lisa), Scott (Sarah); daughter, Brenda Wymer; grandchildren, Ashley, Alex, Donavan, Brandan, Tucker, Savannah, Sophia; brothers, Loren (Cathy), Wayne (Maryann), Gordon (Marlene); sisters, Carole Webb, Janice Clay; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Barbara Culbert; nephew, Joshua Culbert, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Russell will take place Saturday, February 17 from 11 am to 3 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel.
