Mrs. Doreen (Thomas) Rogers Taylor, age 63, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 19, 1956 in Madison, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of, Vernon Ellis and Jean (Ritch) Thomas. She was raised near Florence, Indiana, where she attended school. Doreen was united in marriage on July 7, 1973 to the late, Charles Daniel "Butch" Rogers, Sr.. This happy union was blessed with a daughter, Paula Jean and a son, Charles Daniel "Chuck". Doreen was later united in marriage on August 20, 2003, at the Switzerland Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana, to John Curtis Taylor. This blended family was blessed with two daughters, Nickie and Bessie. She was employed for the US Shoe Factory for one year and Randall's Textron in Vevay, Indiana. Doreen was also employed for Dorman Products in Warsaw, Kentucky and Plastic Molding Factory in East Enterprise, Indiana for one year. Doreen was later employed as a guard for Kentucky Utilities in Ghent, Kentucky for two years and for Belterra Casino & Resort as a guard and dispatcher from 1999-2013. She enjoyed watching movies, especially westerns and resided in Switzerland County all of her life. Doreen attended Spring Branch Baptist Church. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Doreen passed away at 4:19 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John Curtis Taylor of Vevay, IN; her daughter, Paula Jean Bovard and her husband, Larry of Florence, IN; her son, Charles Daniel "Chuck" Rogers, Jr. and his wife, Tracy of Florence, IN; her mother, Jean (Ritch) Thomas of Florence, IN; her step-daughters, Nickie Kersey and her husband, Joe of Cincinnati, OH and Bessie Boyd and her husband, Bill of Milan, IN; her grandchildren, Kelby Rogers, Brayden Rogers and Collin Bovard; her step-grandchildren, Joey, Shy, Trey, Irene, Sara (Chad), Hunter and Hailey; her step-great-grandchild, Bowen; her brother, Larry Gene Thomas, Sr. and his wife, Donna of Dillsboro, IN; her uncle, Ralph Ritch of Tupelo, MS; her aunt, Ann Lee of Fairview, IN; her nieces, Debbie Johns and her husband, Todd and Dora Henry and her husband, Scott and her nephews, Larry Thomas, Jr. and his wife, Shona and Aaron Thomas and his wife: Tiffany.

She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Ellis Thomas, died July 27, 1992 and her 1st husband, Charles Daniel "Butch" Rogers, Sr., died August 20, 2000.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
