Fond memories of

I have known the Schwade family all my life and spent a lot of time on the farm as a young kid, Ruth and Dilver always had time for me.  I enjoyed doing family things with them, I especially remember squirrel hunting, and when going to & from the woods we would pass several ponds where the frogs were plentiful, of course that evening we would have squirrel and frogs and all other forms of fresh bounty from the farm.  Ruth with her 410 shot gun was quite a good shot.

I also helped Dilver load the hay on the hay wagon while Ruth drove the tractor up and down the hills and valleys.  I hung out at the barn during milking time and drinking fresh milk from a tin cup,  Ruth & Dilver milked quite a lot of cows.

Ruth was always a spiffy lady even when milking cows or working in the barn yard.

And in later years visiting with Ruth at her home in Vevay.

Of course their daughter Jeanie is like a sister to me and we were and are always teasing each other & fun things.

Ruth will be missed and I will love her forever.  God Bless.

She tells the story of me as a toddler walking in cow pies smiley and giggling as it squashed up between my toes,  of course I didn't believe that.    George
